STATEMENT OF BELIEFS
Gospel
- Jesus died a death that he did not deserve on the cross and was raised from the dead, according to the scriptures, and appeared to many of his followers before ascending to heaven.
- The only way to be forgiven and reconciled to God is repentance from sin and belief that Jesus died for us, rose from the grave, and reigns as Lord.
- There are no works that are required to be saved––we are saved by grace through faith alone. Obedience to Jesus is the fruit of our salvation, not the cause of it.
- John 3:16, 1 Corinthians 15:1-11, Acts 2:14-41, Acts 10:34-43, Galatians 2:17-21, Ephesians 2:1-10, Titus 2:11-3:7
TRINITY
- There is one God. The Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit are 3 different persons, each one fully God.
- Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 28:19; John 1:1-3,14; 2 Corinthians 13:14, Colossians 2:9, 1 Peter 1:2-3, 1 John 5:20
CALLING
Great Commission
- God has decided to use his followers to spread the gospel of his kingdom to the ends of the earth. Jesus commanded his followers to make disciples of all nations, baptize them, and teach them to obey all that he commanded.
- Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8, Romans 1:16, 1 Corinthians 9:16
Identity of Believers
- Believers are called to live radically different lives, pursuing holiness and identifying as members of the household of God, submitting fully to Jesus as they practice costly obedience and are sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
- 2 Corinthians 5:17-21, 1 Peter 2:9
