One year ago, Rajangam’s wife became paralyzed. Her health became very weak and she passed away. When she was alive we used to go and share the gospel with her and Rajangam, and we saw that their house was full of idols. After his wife died, he became depressed and was not able to walk. Every Thursday we had been conducting house-church in his village. One day he came to the house and asked the owner to have us visit him the next time we came for prayer. So the next time I went to his village, I visited him.
When I saw his house, there were no statues or shrines. The house was fully bright. I asked him, “Why did you throw away the idols and pictures?” He explained that while he was sick in bed, he couldn’t walk or do any of his work. Then someone came and touched his shoulder, and all of a sudden the house was filled with bright lights and his sickness was fully healed in that moment. He got up from his bed, walked for 5KM, and began to do his work. He realized that Jesus Christ is the one who touched him, so he destroyed all of the idols and started going to church every Sunday. When I met him he shared this testimony. He asked me to get one large letter bible for him to read so I bought a Bible and gave it to him. Plz do pray for him.
God is doing amazing things in Tamil Nadu. One villager named Rangaraj was an alcoholic who had tried to commit suicide three times. He and his wife were separated due to his addiction. After we met them and shared the Gospel with them, Rangaraj has started following Christ and recovered from his addiction. His family is restored, and he is committed to sharing how repenting and believing in Jesus’ sacrifice led him to overcome addiction and experience freedom in an entirely new way.
Another man named Gajendran was paralyzed and had not been able to walk for years. One week we visited the house, we shared the Gospel, gave him the New Testament, and prayed for him. The next week, we returned and he was walking. He has shared his testimony with his entire village. We pray that Gajendran will begin to follow Christ having experienced this miracle.
In Kodaikanal, we performed a skit about addiction to alcohol, and offered to help residents with addiction. One man had severe ulcer pain, so we shared the Gospel and prayed for him. The next week, all pain was gone. He is now a believer and shares that he previously worshipped many gods, hoping for healing, but only after meeting Jesus was his pain healed. His family are all believers now.
On another occasion, there was an abandoned church in a Singara village that was used as a trash dump. We shared the Gospel with them and received funds from a local pastor to clean up and rebuild their church. A ministry partner now shares the Gospel with them each week in this church. While they continue to follow false gods, they have open ears to hear the Gospel of Christ each week.
